Wind energy is readily available but wind power is not. The concept of a wind power system hasn’t become a regular power system choice for most people, but the concept is picking up.

Why is wind power important?

It makes perfect sense in this day and age to go with wind power because producing electricity the way we have been by using the non renewable fuels not only makes these resources more scarce, but also effects the environment negatively. The power generated by wind proves beneficial in the following ways:

Free energy – Wind power is absolutely free! By using wind energy, we save the non renewable resources of energy for longer.

No environmental hazards – Wind power is extremely environment-friendly. It does not emit harmful gases and it doesn’t have any other environment-damaging impact.

Cost-effective – Since wind power is free, it makes wind turbines extremely cost effective.

24/7 uninterrupted supply – You will never have power outages in your house when using wind power. You don’t have to rely on others for your power when you are making it yourself.

Self-dependent source – You no longer depend on the government and its agencies for power, and your electricity bills will be a thing of the past.

How can we make power from the wind?

A wind turbine, also known as a windmill is used in conjunction with wind energy to make wind power. It converts wind energy into mechanical energy and in with a wind generator, it converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy we can use in our home for everyday use.

It typically consists of blades, a tower, a shaft, a base, and a generator. The blades rotate to generate mechanical energy. The two pre-requisites for installing a wind turbine are a large area of at least one acre and an average wind speed of 11 miles per hour.

When you use a wind turbine at your home to make wind power, you are definitely making the world a better place. Wind power is a green solution to the power crisis and it does not harm the environment in any way.
